Vinyl Wraps
How long does a vinyl wrap last?
A professionally installed vinyl wrap typically lasts 5 to 7 years. That depends on the quality of the film, how much UV and weather exposure it gets, and how well you maintain your vehicle. We use high-grade materials and apply them in a controlled environment to make sure you get maximum adhesion and edge durability.
Will a vinyl wrap damage my factory paint?
No, it won’t. When it’s properly installed and removed by a professional, vinyl wrap is fully reversible and won’t harm your original paint. Actually, the wrap acts as a protective layer against minor scratches and UV exposure while it’s on your car.
Can I customize the color and finish?
Absolutely. Vinyl wrap comes in a wide range of colors and finishes. Gloss, matte, satin, metallic, chrome, and more. We can also work with specialty films for custom effects. If you have a specific look in mind, bring it to your consultation and we’ll find the right film for it.
Paint Protection Film (PPF)
What is PPF and how is it different from vinyl wrap?
Paint protection film is an optically clear, self-healing film that goes directly over your factory paint. Unlike vinyl wrap, which changes how your car looks, PPF is invisible and focused entirely on protection. It resists rock chips, road debris, and UV damage while keeping your paint’s original color and shine.
Does PPF really “self-heal”?
Yes, it does. The film’s top layer has special properties that let light surface scratches and swirl marks disappear when they’re exposed to heat. Either from sunlight or warm water. Deeper cuts might not fully heal, but the film absorbs the impact that would otherwise reach your paint.
Do you offer full-vehicle PPF or just partial coverage?
We offer both options. Many customers start with a full front-end package that covers the hood, fenders, bumper, and mirrors. Those are the highest-impact areas. Full-vehicle coverage is also available if you want comprehensive protection on all painted surfaces.
Ceramic Coating
What does ceramic coating actually do?
Ceramic coating forms a semi-permanent layer over your paint that repels water, contaminants, and UV rays. It significantly enhances gloss, makes the surface easier to clean, and adds chemical resistance. Depending on the product and how it’s applied, it lasts anywhere from 2 to 5 years.
Is ceramic coating a substitute for PPF?
They serve different purposes. Ceramic coating protects against chemical damage, UV fading, and makes maintenance easier, but it won’t absorb physical impacts like rock chips. PPF does that job. For maximum protection, many customers combine both: PPF on high-impact panels, ceramic coating over the rest of the vehicle.
How should I maintain my vehicle after ceramic coating?
Don’t wash your car for at least 7 days after we apply the coating. This lets it fully cure. After that, use pH-neutral car soaps and avoid automatic car washes with brushes. Regular maintenance washes keep the water-repelling properties working at their best.
Tuning & Performance
What is ECU tuning and what can it do for my vehicle?
ECU tuning is when we reprogram your engine control unit to optimize fuel mapping, boost pressure, throttle response, and ignition timing. Depending on your vehicle and setup, this can give you meaningful horsepower and torque gains, improved throttle feel, and sometimes better fuel efficiency at highway speeds.
Is tuning safe for my engine?
When it’s done properly with the right data and equipment, tuning is safe. We approach every tune conservatively, working within your engine’s mechanical limits and accounting for your fuel type, modifications, and driving conditions. We don’t push numbers just for the sake of a dyno sheet.
Can I tune my vehicle if it’s still under manufacturer warranty?
Tuning typically affects your powertrain warranty for components that the ECU directly impacts. We recommend reviewing your warranty terms or talking with your dealer before moving forward. We’re happy to discuss this with you during your consultation so you can make an informed decision.
Suspension
What suspension services do you offer?
We handle coilover installation, spring replacements, alignment, and general suspension upgrades aimed at improving handling, reducing body roll, and refining ride comfort. We can also work on load-balancing setups for vehicles that carry heavier loads or have been lowered.
Will lowering my vehicle affect daily drivability?
That depends on how much you lower it and which components you choose. A modest drop with quality coilovers can actually improve ride feel and handling compared to stock. We discuss your driving habits and road conditions during the consultation so the final setup fits how you actually use your car.
Interior Customization
What does your interior lighting installation involve?
We install multi-zone RGB LED lighting systems that you can control with a remote or smartphone app. The installation doesn’t damage anything. We route wiring cleanly without cutting into factory harnesses, so your interior looks stock when the lighting is off.
Do you offer custom steering wheel replacements?
Yes, we do. We install custom steering wheels in leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber finishes. All replacements are done with safe adapters that preserve airbag functionality and factory controls.
Pricing & Process
How does the installation process work at Peakmods?
Every job follows a four-stage process. We begin with a consultation to define your goals and confirm service compatibility, then move into preparation with surface cleaning and panel inspection. Installation happens in a controlled environment with calibration where it’s needed. Before you pick up your car, every vehicle goes through a quality inspection to verify the work visually and functionally.
Do you provide quotes before starting work?
Yes, we do. We provide a clear scope and pricing before any work begins. There aren’t any surprise charges. If anything changes during the job, we’ll talk with you about it before proceeding.
